How many seasons and episodes does Naruto have?
In total, all 3 Naruto anime segments have 1.013 episodes so far. This is not the final number of episodes as Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime is still ongoing, and part 2 is developing.
The whole Naruto anime franchise consists of three large segments – Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The first two segments follow Naruto Uzumaki’s path, while the latter one follows his son, Boruto.
Naruto anime consists of 220 episodes spread over five seasons. After the fifth and final season, Naruto anime was followed by Naruto: Shippuden, the continuation of the original anime series. Naruto: Shippuden has 500 episodes spread over 21 seasons. After the conclusion of Naruto: Shippuden, the mantle of the protagonist was transferred to Naruto’s son Burotu since the story was continued in the spin-off anime Bortu: Naruto Next Generations. Bortu: Naruto Next Generations so far has 293 episodes, spread over six seasons. The sixth season will be the anime’s final season, but it has recently been revealed that part 2 of the anime is in development, so it’s definitely not the end of Boruto’s story.

Naruto franchise fillers
We at Fiction Horizon have already done a detailed analysis of the Naruto fillers. You can check out our guide to the Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden fillers, our guide to the Boruto fillers, and also our guide on which Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden fillers are worth the watch.
Do you need to watch Naruto anime in order?
It would be best to watch the complete Naruto anime in order, including OVA episodes and movies. You can skip filler, but if you like the anime, you will also decide to watch them.
Will there be more Naruto in the future?
Naruto anime has been finished for a while, but Boruto succeeded it: Naruto the Next Generation. With that said, recently, it was announced that the current run of Boruto is merely part 1 of the overall anime adaptation of the material. Boruto anime will have part 2 as well, just like the original Naruto anime. We can’t say for sure when part 2 will start airing, as nothing has been revealed.
