Destiny 2 The Witch Queen guide: Qualichor, Memory Alembic quest (2024)

In Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, you can use Qualichor to start a quest from Fynch, which requires you to kill some Lucent Brood Executioners across Savathun’s Throne World (which will eventually net you the Ascended Bounty Hunter Triumph).

In this Destiny 2: The Witch Queen guide, we’ll explain how to get the Qualichor, how to find all of Savathun’s Executioners, and how to complete the “Memory Alembic” quest that comes from them.

How to get Qualichor

You’ll need to unlock Deepsight 2 before attempting this quest.

The Qualichor quest item drops from the chest after completing a specific Deepsight puzzle. You must complete these puzzles to unlock the Executioner Triumphs found under the “Secret” tab in the Savuthun’s Throne World section of the Triumphs.

The location of this puzzle changes each day, but it only has one of three spots it can spawn in (one in each section of Savathun’s Throne World) so check each zone every day. We’ll break down each spot below. The first puzzle you complete and open the chest for will give you the Qualichor, which you can take back to Fynch to start the Memory Alembic quest.

Miasma Scorn corpse location

Here’s the path to follow if the Scorn corpse is in the Miasma area.

To find this corpse, head to the Miasma zone of Savathun’s Throne World.

In Miasma, head to the right after entering the zone and you should be in the same spot we are in the map above.

Activate the nearby Deepsight, and look immediately to the right. You’ll see a Scorn corpse. Investigate it.

Follow the green, goopy path until you get to a scannable pile of debris, found on the map shown above.

Scan the debris, and the quest will take you to a variety of locations inside of Witch’s Echo zone. Follow the green path until you reach a Lucent Hive.

This green path stays on the ground, so if you get lost, you can retrace your steps to find it again. Kill the Lucent Hive and, it’ll drop a chest that you can loot. This chest will give you the Qualichor item.

Take this item back to Fynch and he’ll give you the Memory Alembic quest, if you don’t have it already.

Florescent Canal Scorn corpse location

Here’s the path to follow if the Scorn corpse is in the Florescent Canal.

To find this corpse, head to the Florescent Canal zone of Savathun’s Throne World.

In Florescent Canal, head to the area right above the Sepulcher Lost Sector. There are two buildings surrounding the Lost Sector, the one you want is on the north side.

Inside that building, activate the nearby Deepsight, and look immediately to the right. You’ll see a Scorn corpse. Investigate it.

Scan the debris, and the quest will take you to the Queen’s Bailey.

This green path stays on the ground, so if you get lost, you can retrace your steps to find it again. Kill the Lucent Hive and, it’ll drop a chest that you can loot.

Quagmire Scorn Corpse Location

Here’s the path to follow if the Scorn corpse is in Quagmire.

To get this item, head to the Quagmire zone of Savathun’s Throne World.

In Quagmire, head to the cavern system that is almost directly across from Fynch.

Activate the nearby Deepsight, and look immediately to the right. You’ll see a Scorn corpse. Investigate it.

Scan the debris, and the quest will take you to back into the Alluring Curtain.

This green path stays on the ground, so if you get lost, you can retrace your steps to find it again. Kill the Lucent Hive and, it’ll drop a chest that you can loot.

How to complete the Memory Alembic quest

The “Memory Alembic” quest requires you to kill eight of the Lucent Brood Executioners. You can only kill one of these per day per account, so check back in daily, and follow the same steps we used above to get the Qualichor from another Executioner.

The “Memory Alembic” quest requires you to kill eight of the Lucent Brood Executioners. You can only use the above instructions once per day, so check back in daily and follow the same steps we used above to get the Qualichor from another Executioner.

There is another way to get additional Qualichor. Lucent Hive Inquisitors, Commanders, and Lightbearers can randomly spawn in any zone of Savathun’s Throne World. If you fight through all of the waves of this random event, which we break down below, a chest spawns and gives you an additional Qualichor. Once you collect 8 Qualichor, return to Fynch for your reward, a Refined Qualichor. You use this item to open a secret chest at the end of the Lucent Brood event described below.

Refined Qualichor and the Executioners Hoard

As laid out above, there is a random event that can spawn on Savathun’s Throne World. You will know the event has arrived because you will see the following message on your screen:

Lucent Hive Inquisitors in your sector
A high-value target is nearby

There are three waves, each of which has two sections. YOu’ll see a message on your screen for each. The first section’s message is “Lucent Hive Inquisitors in your sector.”

This means that, somewhere in your current zone, a small group of glowing white enemies will spawn. You can see the example above.

Once you defeat these enemies, there will be a new message that appears on your screen, “Lucent Hive Inquisitors eliminated: commander incoming.” This commander is a larger, more powerful enemy that will spawn in the same place as the small group did. Once you defeat this enemy, the first message will appear again. There will be three total waves of this before the final enemies spawn.

Once you finish the three waves, you will see the above message. “Lucent Hive Lightbearers arriving: exercise extreme caution.” Three Lucent Hive Lightbearers and a few smaller enemies will spawn. Once you kill the three Lightbearers, a chest and a Deepsight orb will spawn near the location of the final battle. The chest will give you a random piece of loot as well as a Qualichor. The Deepsight orb is how you reach the Executioner’s Chest, needed for the Triumph of the same name, and you need Refined Qualichor to open that chest.

Once you activate the Deepsight orb, a path will open near you. The example above is from the Quagmire location. Look around for a chest. You will use the Refined Qualichor to open the chest and get some loot, as well as the Triumph.

It currently appears that you can only open this chest once, as it uses the Refined Qualichor item. If in the future you can get more Refined Qualichor, you can use the above steps to get to that chest again.
